Emergency Action in severe weather
During snow and severe weather is our intention to remain open if at all possible as long as we can provide heating, and a safe environment, but we are very mindful of hazardous travelling conditions particularly as the majority of our staff and some pupils do not live in the village.
If we are able to open, we will endeavour to have a gritted route into school from the main gates. Please ensure your child brings a named pair of wellingtons and a coat if they wish to play on the field in the snow at breaktimes.
Should the need arise to close the school, the decision will be broadcast on the local radio stations and on the Warwickshire County Council website. If possible a message will be recorded on the school phone number. A free text message alert service is available from the Warwickshire County Council web site on Registration with this service needs renewing each academic year. As registration for the text system requires access to the internet, please ask the school office to do that for you if required.
We only notify the WCC website/text system when we are closed. No message posted means we are open.
Please also note that we make our decision independently from the High School.
If the school has to close during the day we will announce this on Twitter and the Warwickshire County Council website. Your child will be supervised by an adult until you are able to collect them.
