Salsa Evening

One final reminder that tomorrow is ‘Salsa Night’!! Tickets are £10 and have sold well. Please see Elizabeth Swanwick or turn up tomorrow evening for an 8pm start. It promises to be great fun.

Trip to the British Museum

Year 5 had a very interesting trip to the British Museum in London on Monday. They learned a lot while touring many of the museum’s galleries and saw a wide range of artefacts from Ancient Greece. This complements their history work on Ancient Greece this term.

Class Assembly

Just a reminder that next Thursday (1st May) is Class 5’s turn to present a class assembly, starting at 10.20am. Family and friends are very welcome to attend and tea and coffee will be available afterwards. Year 1’s assembly is the following week (8th May).

Taking Care Project

All children will be participating in the ‘Taking Care’ project this term. The main themes for this work are

-          We all have the right to feel safe all the time.

-          There is nothing so awful we can’t talk about it with someone.

We are sending home with this letter a guide for parents and carers to explain more about the project. Should you have any queries, please contact your child’s class teacher.

Pupil Sickness and Absence

Thank you to those parents who have let us know of their child’s absence on the morning it has begun. It really helps us to ensure that children, especially if they normally walk to school on their own, can be accounted for. Please ensure we have up to date telephone contact details should we need to check with you regarding your child’s absence from school. A mobile number rather than an answerphone would be really helpful.

Use of school bike racks

It is great to see more children coming to school safely on bikes and scooters rather than in cars. As you will be aware, the School Travel Plan has enabled us to install a bike rack and storage for helmets. Please ensure your child remembers to take their bike or scooter home at the end of the day.

Lego

Mrs Carroll would be grateful to receive any unwanted Lego for children she works with to use. Please send it in to the school office.

Have a lovely weekend!

Margaret Pollard
