Leavers
Events The
Leavers service will be held at church at 9.30am on Thursday 19th July –
children from Y2-Y6 will attend. The Leavers assembly will be at 9.30am on
Friday 20th July. Family and friends of Year 6 children are welcome to
attend both events. Summer
Fete A
big thank you to the Friends for their hard work all year and in
particular for putting on an amazing fete. We were entertained by the Red
Devils parachuting out of the sky; a fly over by a Dakota and the Blue
Eagles helicopters; dancing by the mini-mezzos and the school country
dancers, amongst many other things. It’s going to be a hard act to
follow! It
raised approximately £4,000.00 for
the school which is going towards developing the Reception class outdoor
area. Well done to the following children who won prizes in the art &
craft competition based on the theme “Flying” Emily

uniform We
are sending home today details of our revised policy on school uniform
which will come into effect from the beginning of September. On the whole,
the uniform remains the same, but some changes have been made,
particularly in light of health and safety concerns. Some of these changes
bring us in line with other local primary schools and We
believe that wearing school uniform helps children to feel they belong and
encourages a sense of pride in their school. Looking and feeling smart can
have a positive effect on attitude and behaviour in school and also makes
a good impression to people from outside school. Key
reminders when planning for the autumn term are ·
Black sensible shoes
to be worn. Boots, trainers and open toed sandals are not permitted. ·
No jewellery may be
worn, and this includes earrings. Children wearing jewellery to school
will be asked to remove it immediately. ·
Trousers, skirts and
shorts (except for PE) should be grey, not black. They should be
traditional style – no combats. ·
Sweaters and
sweatshirts etc. should only be red. ·
Skirts and dresses
should be knee length. ·
Children with hair
long enough to be tied back should come to school with it tied back. We
expect children to adhere to the new uniform list when they return to
school after the summer holiday and your support in this area is much
appreciated. School
Meals There
will be a small increase in price to £1.60 per day from the start
of the Autumn Term. Parent
Helpers A
big thank you to all the parents who have helped out over the last year in
any way. Your support in class
and on visits is invaluable. Please talk to your child’s new teacher if
you would like to continue. Myton
Hospice Thank
to everyone who supported the Wear Yellow day and Tea at Three. We have
been able to make a generous donation to Myton Hospice. Sports
Day It
was lovely to see so many of you at sports day yesterday, braving the
showers! Congratulations to
Verney for being the winning team and well done to everyone for their
great team spirit. Headteacher
situation We
have enjoyed working with Mrs Hunt this term and have benefited from her
support in a number of areas. We wish her well next year as she returns to
Lighthorne Heath as full-time headteacher. You
should have all received a letter from the Governors explaining the
arrangements for September. We are hoping that Mrs Moffatt will be well
enough to return in September, but if this is not the case, Mrs Buran, who
has been acting head at Tysoe, will serve as acting head at Kineton on a
full time basis. Thank
you all for your support over the last two terms whilst Mrs Moffatt and Mrs Hunt have been absent. We
hope that you all have a lovely summer and look forward to welcoming the
children back to school on Tuesday 4th September Alison
