Class
Assembly In
their assembly yesterday, Class 2 told us how much they had been learning
from our lovely school grounds. They also demonstrated excellent skipping
skills. Well done all of you! Summer
fete ‘’Friends’
are very busy with final arrangements for the fete on Saturday 5th
July. It promises to be as spectacular as ever and we hope to see you all
there. As usual, there will be a competition for children to enter, and
this time it will be on the theme of ‘What do kids like about
Kineton?’ This will fit in well with work we have been doing alongside
Kineton & District Local History Group who are looking to make a
record of Kineton today. Children are asked to create a picture (drawing,
painting or collage), a model or a piece of writing ( e.g. a poem or an
illustrated diary extract) on this theme and entries will be exhibited at
the fete. Prizes will be awarded to every class. In
addition, help is sought to help set up and clear away the fete on Friday
afternoon and Sunday morning. Please contact a member of the committee or
the school office if you have a couple of hours to spare. Faith
Week Next
week, children will be learning about saints in a variety of ways. It is
an exciting way to enrich our
RE curriculum and our work will also be shared with St Peter’s Church. Job
vacancy Mrs
White is due to retire in the summer and Warwickshire County Caterers are
currently looking for someone to replace her.
Her key responsibilities include the preparation of school meals,
helping children choosing ‘cafeteria’ and clearing away at the end of
lunchtime. The position is for 16.5 hours per week at £6.91 per hour,
term time only. A uniform is provided, a meal is available and training
can be arranged if required. If you are interested, please contact School
bus It
is becoming difficult to keep accurate records of children travelling home
on the school bus each day. Therefore please could parents advise the
school office of the regular days their child catches the bus home, and
also notify us of any occasional changes to this. Many thanks. Fones4Schools You
will shortly be receiving information regarding this scheme which Mrs
Johnson is co-ordinating in school, as part of our work towards our Bronze
Eco Award. The scheme pays £300 to school for every 200 old mobile phones
collected for recycling, so it is an ideal way to help the environment at
the same time as raising funds for the school. Volunteering at
School
We
welcome and value all our parent volunteers. However, we are obliged to
ensure they have a current CRB check. These checks can take several weeks
to complete and are only valid for a year. Those parents whose current CRB
will lapse over the next few months will find a new form attached to this
newsletter. Any other parents who are interested in volunteering please
contact the office for a form. INSET
Day Don’t
forget that next Friday (27th June) is a teacher training day
and so the school will be closed for pupils. Have
a lovely weekend! Margaret
Pollard (Headteacher)
