Kineton Primary Shape Gang - Citizenship

Get Involved, You Decide, Be Responsible

Citizen: A UK citizen is someone who is legally recognised as a member of this country.

Citizenship: Is about giving people the knowledge and the skills that they need to be active and responsible members of their local and national communities.

Get Involved

Community

Communities are different groups that people belong to. Can you think of some communities that you are part of?

  • Your family
  • Your Street
  • Your village
  • Your School
  • Your Country
  • the World

Can you think of anymore?

Active Citizenship

Active Citizenship is doing things for other people. How can you help?

Recycling

Harry Hexagon always recycles!

By recycling your rubbish you can help the environment. It takes longer than throwing things straight into the bin but will help to make the world a nicer place to live in the future! Lots of rubbish can be recycled - tin, glass, paper .......

Helping Others

Helping can be more about giving time than money and it can involve thinking about big subjects like the environment, or helping just one person.

Have you helped anyone today? It could be as simple as keeping your bedroom tidy or helping with the grocery shopping!

You Decide

Some people have to make decisions and set rules for communities.

How would you do it?

Decision-making can be difficult and complicated, often involving more than one person. Knowing who to talk to is an important first step in making decisions that affect your community.

Be responsible

Thinking and Sharing

Members of a community should think about each other. Because we belong to many different communities, we sometimes have difficult choices to make.

  • Should we always do what we want?
  • How do our words and actions make others feel?
