Here are just a few answers to questions we are asked on regular basis. We hope they help. Please feel free to send any feedback. If more information is required we will endeavour to add it to this page.
What time does school start?
Children can enter school from 8.55am after the school bell has been rung. Children are supervised on the school playgrounds from 8.45am. In wet weather the children can enter early.
What do I do if my child is unwell?
If a child is unwell and unable to attend school, we ask parents to telephone the office before 10 a.m. to let us know. Registers are checked each day for non-attendance and a telephone call is made to those parents whose children have not arrived in school by that time.
Can I come and help in school?
We welcome parents and members of the local community to come and help in school. If you would like to volunteer, you will need to register with the office in order for us either to view your DBS/CRB check or arrange for one to be completed. This is obviously VERY important for the safety of our children and we thank you for your support. Please get in touch with the school office to arrange this.
What happens on Non School Uniform & Bring a Bottle days?
Such days are organised to collect bottles for the school summer or Christmas fayre, in return for not wearing school uniform, the children bring in bottle or chocolate, as requested. This is organised by the Parent Teacher Association.
What is School Council?
The views of the children at Kineton are taken very seriously on a range of issues. The School Council is a group of nominated children from across the school who discuss school issues with staff on a weekly basis to inform improvements at the school.
Can I take my child out of school during term time for a holiday?
There is no automatic entitlement for children to have leave of absence for a holiday during term time. If you believe you have 'exceptional circumstances', please ask at the office for a form. Exceptional circumstances do not include availability of parental leave, availability of accommodation, weather or cost.
Which after school clubs are available?
A wide range of clubs are available for children, during and after school, ranging from archery, knitting, ukulele, football, rugby, netball and enterprise and many other opportunities. A letter is sent out each term for parents to request a place.
